Digipak experimentation

Digipak experimentation I am still unsure of what route to take with the Digipak, however, if i decide to do the art style i have created the panels for it. The process is shown in the video in which, i drew the band member and proceed to add color. The text will be added on a different program as the text on Kirka doesn't offer a font that i think fits with the genre. The process of creation is based upon different layers of which i drew and then add color, each layer has a different color leading to there being 47 on the artwork. This was done using a Wacom graphics tablet which allows for me to draw onto the computer. However, alongside this i have been trying out some minimalistic CD covers as it is quite frequently used within the genre, such as Arctic Monkey's cover for "Am" and The XX's self titled album. These CD covers convey the same messages and symbolism of the others but with a different style. I quite like the simplicity...

Digipak Planing  As apart of our coursework we are required to create a digipak. Our genre is indie rock, so wanted our digipak to follow the conventions while also linking with our music video. We will do this by taking some of the symbols we used in our music video and incorporating in the digipak. Such as roses, fire and broken hearts. This follows the theme of a break up which the album will be centred around, as roses have connotations of romance but they will be burning to signify a loss of love. While the front will have roses growing out of the lead singers head to represent growth and change. As texts are polysemic, it can also be interpreted that he is thinking about romance and love. The inside of the digipak will feature the other two band members, one will be crying blood/or have their eyes blacked. While the other band member will be holding his heart in his hands, showing how he is vulnerable, emphasizing the breakup theme to the album. The colou...
