Narrative Plan 2

Narrative Plan 2

We will be cross cutting between performance and narrative. We decided that we are going to shoot performance first as it will require the most organisation. This will be the final day of shooting unless we need to re-shoot. We plan to take different shots of the couple being happy with one another and fighting. This will show the highs and lows of the relationship and creates an ambiguity to the narrative as it is not clear why they split. This was influenced by the polysemic nature of the song lyrics.

  • We plan to shoot on Sunday the 9th of December as the weather is all clear as we wish to shoot in outside locations. We will shoot mid-afternoon as this will be the best time for lighting in December, just before the sun goes down.

List of people involved:

  • Luke Whittaker- Acting.
  • Maddie Patrick- Acting.
  • Sarah Tennant- Camera and lights.
  • Hollie Wistow- Camera and lights.

Props:

  • Old Fashioned Camera- To add to the picture theme that will be consistent in the music video.  We chose to use an old one instead of a modern one as to have themes of nostalgia. How, their relationship is in the past. It also fitted more to the mise-en-scene of the indie rock genre.

Locations:

  • Alfreton Park- All the narrative shooting is done outside. We will shoot both on the park and in the forest of this location. It was chosen to contrast the other enclosed wooded scene as this park is much more open and greener, it is full of life. Representing the different moods the protagonist feels at that time.  It is also a very piratical location, easily accessible by all members involved and we will avoid the people by going to a more private part of the park.

Costumes:

The costumes we will use will tell us about the character. The female will wear vibrant colors of orange and blue to contrast will the dark ones of the male lead. It could be argued that their costumes make them "binary oppositions." This insinuates that they are widely different people, contributing to their break up. The female love interest will wear the bright clothing due to connotations of happiness that accompanies it.

The male will wear a red jacket which we planned intentionally, as it is the contrasting color of the greens he wears post-break up. This will show a shift in mood.  Red representing romance and passion while green has multiple interpretations such as growth or jealousy.

Equipment:

  • Camera-Used to shoot our footage.
  • Tripod-  Used to stabilize the camera in order to prevent the footage being shaky. Although, we will do some handheld shots to emiluate the chaotic emotions of the protagonist.
  • Steadicam- Used to stop shakiness when moving.

  • Risk Assessment:

There is no possible dangers with the shoot so we do not need a risk assessment.
