Narrative plan 1

Narrative plan 1

We will be cross cutting between performance and narrative. We decided that we are going to shoot performance first as it will require the most organisation. For this day we will be shooting shots of the protagonist running and burning old photographs of his ex. This will be used to show how the he feels trapped, trying to run away from his problems. As well as, burning the photos which could have a few interpretations such as him getting over the girl or him trying to erase her.

  • We plan to shoot on Sunday the 19th of November, it will be outside so we have checked the weather forecast and it is all clear and even sunny, this will be good as we will shoot throughout the day into the evening time.

List of people involved:

  • Luke Whittaker- Acting. We chose to have him as our main actor because in the test shots he performed in the way that we wanted him to and had the effort we required for our actual piece.
  • Sarah Tennant- Camera and lights.
  • Hollie Wistow- Camera and lights.

Props:

  • Printed Photos- These will be of the lead singers girlfriend, we will take multiple shots of these being set on fire. They will be used to symbolise how he is getting over this girl and burning the past.  We have ensured that we have lots of these photos to get a variety of shots.
  • Flowers- These will also be set on fire as they often symbolise romance and passion, this will show how that has now gone and he can move forward.
  • Fire bin/ things to burn- The lead will be stood in front of the fire and will burn things.

Locations:

Back garden- This is were we we light a fire. It will be a safe location to do this and we have consent. We shoot at night to add more of a dramatic atmosphere and will look darker, fitting to the indie rock genre. We will shoot in the mid-afternoon as to ensure the best lighting for the fire, it needs to dark as to enhance the vibrance of the fire.

Lees forest- This is near the back garden so will work practically. Its quite and open but also has an enclosed asethoc He will be running through the woods and will look quite distressed. The trees will surround the protagonist, enclosing him in order to reflect the trapped emotion that he feels.

Costumes:

Akin to the indie rock genre we have selected a range of clothing that will fit. The only person who we will be filming is the lead singer Luke.  He will be wearing a similar costume to the performance to create continuity as he will be wearing the same colours but just more suited to outside weather.

here is a rough sketch of the costume:

Equipment:

  • Camera : Used to shoot our footage. We decided to use this camera due to its SD card port which will make it easier to transfer our clips over to premiere pro. It also, shoots in high quality unlike other shooting equipment available to us like a mobile phone.
  • Tripod: Used to stabilize the camera in order to prevent the footage being shaky. We will use this tripod as it is the one that fits the best with the camera, but also, has extendable legs. This means that we will be able to get a range of shots from different positions and angles.
