Storyboard 

Our music video will cross cut between narrative and performance. The lead singer will also be the protagonist within the narrative. The narrative will follow the protagonist as he navigates through a breakup that ended on bad terms. The song is called "Rise" and he is "Rising" by being able to get over his ex. There will be shots to symbolism this for example, at one point he will roses and a picture of his ex used to show how he is easing her and romance from his life.

People involved: 

After doing auditions we decided on the people who we will have within our music video for both the performance and narrative.

Luke Whittaker- In previous work such as the test shots we used him as the singer, he is able to concentrate and lip sync effectively. While also being a good actor which will be needed for the story. We are able to communicate our ideas towards him and he can respond to our feedback. Luke also has the characteristics that make him fit within the aesthetic of the genre, such as his long and messy hair.


 Madeline Patrick- Madeline is going to the love interest for our protagonist and lead singer, she is well equip for the role as she is currently studying drama. This means she will be an effective actor within the narrative section of our performance. While, also fulfilling the look that we wised to achieve through her dyed hair.

Joe Godber- Joe will be used as a band member within the performance section of our video because he has the enthusiasm and look required to the guitarist.

Hollie Wistow-  I will be both contributing on and off camera, having a minor role as a guitarist in the band as well as shooting the music video. i will be useful in adding diversity within the band as she will be be the only female. Showing something new in a genre monopolized by males. As well as using the skills i developed from shooting last year on the music video.


Sarah Tennant- Will also be behind the camera, using her skills from last years protect to director others and to hold the lighting in the correct positions. She has great organisation skills and so is in charge with sorting out the equipmentfac and what to bring on what day of shooting.

EVALUATION QUESTION 3 "what have you learned from your audience feedback?"  The third evaluation question asks what i have learned from my audience feedback, so in response i record three peoples reactions to my music video, followed by questions to evaluate it and my ancillary products. As well as this, i conducted an in-class focus group from fellow media students on how to improve my music video during the final stages of the editing process. The sample that used worked well as the majority of them fell in my target audience demographic.  From the feedback, it was clear that my products have been successful in creating a recognizable band identity that is established between all three of my final products. Music Video Analysis Additional Analysis:  You Me At Six- Lived a lie:  This music video is from indie rock band "You Me At Six", i have chosen to look more into this genre as it is the one i intend to use for my own music videos. Therefor, analyzing this will allow me too see the typical codes and conventions of the genre. Camera:  The video opening focuses on the lead vocalist as seen through a medium shot, which empathizes Goodwin notion of "Star Power" as he is the front man for the band and thus the one that audiences are more likely to recognize. The camera then quickly moves to a range of shots, with many extreme close ups on the lead singers face such as his eyes. It makes the video feel quite intimate to watch, as the singer seems to be vulnerable. Within the shots he looks sad or in pain.
