Performance Plan

Performance plan:

We will be cross cutting between performance and narrative. We decided that we are going to shoot performance first as it will require the most organisation.
  • We plan to shoot it on the 29th of October- As it is a day in which all band members are free and have access to transport us to out location with all the props. No weather forecast check is required as this will all be shot inside.

List of people involved:

  • Luke Whittaker- Lead singer. Luke was chosen to be the lead singer as he has the "edgy" look that we wish to accomplish with the band. He reflects the style of the genre we wish to achieve.
  • Hollie Wistow - Guitarist/ Camera work- We chose to have a female band member as to add diversity in that the majority of people involved in indie rock are males.
  • Joe Godber - Guitarist -
  • Sarah Tennant- Camera work/ Lighting

Props:

Because our music video has a huge element of performance we decided to have a band. This meant that for props we had to gather instruments that suited our song hence the Microphone, electric guitar, drums and symbol. We wanted this to look authentic so used the real instruments that can be heard in the song:

Location:

We plan on using a garage as it will provide a metallic grungy backdrop for the band, corresponding to the indie rock genre. It will also enable us to use the lighting effectively as it will be pitch black and thus the colors of the lights will be very vibrant. In the garage there will also be a smoke machine which make the performance look more dramatic and professional.

Costumes:

Akin to the indie rock genre we have selected a range of clothing that will fit. Both males in the band will wear ripped jeans and boots, providing that "edgy" and effortless look. Alongside simple T-shirts and wrist bands. The female guitarist will wear a leather jacket, black dress and a choker to create consistency with the style.

Here is a rough sketch of the costumes the band will wear:

Equipment:

  • Camera : Used to shoot our footage. We decided to use this camera due to its SD card port which will make it easier to transfer our clips over to premiere pro. It also, shoots in high quality unlike other shooting equipment available to us like a mobile phone.
  • Tripod: Used to stabilize the camera in order to prevent the footage being shaky. We will use this tripod as it is the one that fits the best with the camera, but also, has extendable legs. This means that we will be able to get a range of shots from different positions and angles.
  • Lights: As the location will be dark we will provide our own lights, it has many different colors that we will use when shooting. These will be used to enhance the atmosphere of our shots and create a consistent theme.
  • Smoke machine: Use to create smoke to give the performance a grungy vibe.
